Platinum Jubilee Birthday Honours for Buckinghamshire Residents Announced

From lifelong services to communities, sport, young people and the arts, to commitment in the defence of and business life of our country to continued actions to support efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, a total of 23 Buckinghamshire residents were announced today in HM The Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, The Countess Howe said:

“At her coronation, 70 years ago, The Queen pledged herself to serve this country and the Commonwealth, and this she has done with wisdom, courage, commitment and charm.

During her long reign she has seen both the country and the Commonwealth go through exponential change, and throughout all this time she has shown a deep concern for the welfare of her people.

Today, at the beginning of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, we can also celebrate the 23 Buckinghamshire residents receiving honours who do the same in and for their communities

I have so much respect and admiration for those who have been honoured with an award. Their tireless commitment, energy and sacrifice makes a significant difference to the lives of others.

I proudly applaud the achievements of our honours’ recipients and thank them for their dedication. Their example is an inspiration to us all and they are richly deserving of this distinction.”
